I love Abstraction and non-representational art, but I find it very challenging to create. I see the world so figuratively that faces or objects will appear unbidden in a non-representational canvas and start to take over. But it’s freeing, a great way to study colour, composition and design and I am happy when I succeed. Most of the representational landscapes in the portfolio were commissions, but I’d like try some in watercolour and oils plein air.
The imaginary abstracted landscapes called This Sky We Live In are inspired from a beautiful poem by the mystic poet Hafiz:
This sky
Where we live
Is no place to lose your wings
So love, love
love
